… you haven’t heard from in a while.
As it gets disproportionally harder to get out of bed in the mornings now that we are losing a couple of minutes of daylight every day, think of those who may suffer from any kind of mild depression or who may be a little lonely – or whom we just haven’t heard from in a while. It’s certainly most difficult to second guess who may be in a dark place, just think of Robin Williams.
Who could say for certain which of our friends, acquaintances or former colleagues may be affected? Not necessarily in a way that they won’t be able to cope with but still I would much rather prefer to have checked and spent a few minutes for a phone call than feeling sorry.
My resolution for the winter months is to reconnect with a number of people I haven’t heard from lately or who I believe may have a difficult time either in their personal or work lives or who find winter particularly hard.
Just a quick phone call or text message to catch up, maybe meet over of the coming weeks. What is better on a wet and windy dark evening than having a laugh with a friend and maybe some nice food to go with it? Who knows, if we all did this we may even be able to save lives…
